BREAKING: Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards will be effectively proscribed as a terrorist group, the home office has announced.

Ministers are today laying draft regulations before parliament to ban the IRGC and fellow Iranian group the Islamic Movement of Companions of the Right (IMCR).

The GRU, the Russian military intelligence unit, will also be designated, if approved by parliament.
