Have seen @VicUniWgtn claim that @VUWSA is in favour of the University name change - see for example https://t.co/bDN8JDETkT. And yet, when I messaged VUWSA today to see any submission they've made, I was told "VUWSA hasn't made an official submission." 🤔
The use of the University of Manchester as a great e.g. of retiring the name "Victoria" in 2004 is really odd. University of Manchester was only formed in 2004 by the merging of two institutions... which had Manchester in common. That's an obvious change. This not so much.

The most New Zealand thing ever is that *every time* a country is approaching some significant anniversary of women's suffrage we post "Congratulations to Country Y for this! It has been x number of years since New Zealand was the first country to give women the vote".
