The ancient names of Mulbagal were Bhaskara Kshetra, Kadalisha-Vanam, and Arjunapuram. This holy land was sanctified during Treta Yuga itself, where Sage VASISHTA , the kula guru of the Ikshvaku dynasty, installed the deities of Sri Rama, Sita, and Lakshmana.

Later during Dwapara Yuga, the deity of Sri Srinivasa was installed here. After the Mahabharata war, ARJUNA was ordained to install Sri Veeranjaneya Swamy as a mark of gratitude to Lord Hanuman, who protected the Pandavas while residing on the flag of Arjuna’s chariot during Kurukshetra. 🙏✨

The unique west-facing Hanuman idol is seen walking southward, carrying the divine Sowgandhika flower and blessing devotees with abhaya mudra.

Located on NH-75 behind the Mulbagal bus stand, this powerful temple continues to attract devotees travelling towards Tirupati. 🌺
