I write in Sakal newspaper that Sedition law has no place in any democratic country. This colonial law has chilling effect on free speech, should be scrapped asap. Thanks to the Sakal media & Raut Sir for taking this up !
Pained to see visuals of violent attacks against young peaceful protesters, who have genuine valid concerns. The education system, particularly the testing system is broken. Come down heavily on fixing that, not on the protestors. Please find a better way. #indiasGenZrocks
Nadda :
“…for the first time a proposal came from the protesters to hold talks with the government….
How arrogant !
Our fasting children’s proposals were known to all
What was the government doing ?
Watching and waiting to tear-gas and lathi charge them !
Shameful !
SAMDISH SHOWS HOW POLICE BRUTALITY CRUSHED DISSENT 🚨
Students came to Jantar Mantar asking questions on education, paper leaks and accountability. What followed was pure police brutality.
A woman was beaten by male officers. Students were pushed, chased and hit. Samdish himself took lathis while recording what was happening.
Even after being hit, he kept saying: this is not about media privilege. No citizen should be beaten like this in their own city.
This was the state crushing dissent in full public view.
Jantar Mantar became the place where students asked for dialogue and power answered with lathis.

One thing is clear, this was not a CJP protest. CJP almost vanished when the repression peaked. This was people hitting the streets and taking over the protest. This is why it was met with such brutality. The state is scared of people, not self appointed leaders.
I took this video of policeman dismantling the stage where Sonam Wangchuk sat on a hunger strike for nearly three weeks for Cockroach Janta Party at Jantar Mantar
As someone who has been part of the Indian media for nearly fifty years I want to put on record that I am ashamed of our ‘independent’ TV channels. They should declare themselves Doordarshan 2.0 and retire.
We stand in solidarity with the youth of our country.
Their voices deserve to be heard — loud, clear, and without fear. They are the heartbeat of our democracy and the true architects of our nation’s future.
Let us listen, support, and empower them. The energy, courage, and dreams of our young people will shape the India we aspire to build.
Jai Hind.

The sacked Delhi Police Commissioner should feel good after yesterday. At least he can face his children and say that the merciless beating of India’s youth was not under his watch and perhaps he was removed exactly because he would not have allowed the same on Tadipar’s orders!
I’m thinking same since yesterday. People are awakening & exercising their rights under the Constitution to express dissent, to protest peacefully. But our courts, our policing is so harsh to live up to the basic human rights of these citizens.
There are those who studied the constitution for their degree; swore by the constitution for their position; decode the constitution daily for their work. And then there are the young protestors in Delhi, who imbibed the letter and spirit of Babasaheb's constitution and practised their rights and freedoms. Our democracy and future is hopeful because of these young protestors. Meanwhile, Govt. - Police - Courts are busy playing "law and order", a game of colonial vintage.
