Yet OTHER AFRICAN COUNTRIES ARE NOT RETALIATING.
NO ONE IS DOING THE SAME TO SOUTH AFRICANS LIVING IN THEIR COUNTRIES. I WONDER WHAT HAPPENS WHEN EVERY OTHER COUNTRY START TREATING SOUTH AFRICANS LIVING IN THEIR COUNTRIES THE SAME WAY!
South African government needs to call these lazy South African hoodlums to order. They go about pouring their tantrums and frustration on African foreigners who run businesses in their country.
Mandelaโs fight for freedom was totally in futility.
A PROUD MOMENT FOR GHANAIAN CREATIVITY ON THE GLOBAL STAGE! ๐๐ฌ๐ญ
It was an absolute honour to attend the opening of After Fashion, Life!, the powerful installation by our talented MQ Artist-in-Residence, Edwin Adokwei Boye, at theMuseumsQuartier, Wien on 11th February, 2026.
Edwin, a self-taught visual artist from Accra, masterfully transforms discarded garments collected from Kantamanto Market in Accra and the streets of Vienna into an artificial ecosystem that confronts the devastating impacts of fast fashion and "waste colonialism" on the Global South. His Afro-Surrealist vision dialogues beautifully with Anita Fuchsโ Versuchsfeld1 wildflower meadow and the MQ Goes Green sustainability efforts, turning textile waste into a stark reminder of overproduction, pollution, and the urgent need for ecological justice.
A heartfelt thank you to Edwin for the warm welcome and inspiring conversation, which challenges us to rethink that after fashion, life must find a way: sustainably and equitably.Your residency here strengthens the cultural bonds between Ghana and Austria.
The installation remains on view until 25th March, 2026, in the MQ Schauraum Anita Fuchs ,free admission! If you're in Vienna, don't miss this thought-provoking piece.
Grateful for platforms like @mqwien that amplify African voices and urgent stories.
