Too often, I hear student share critiques of neoliberalism that have been taught to them, in ways that intentionally omit any attention to coloniality. How long do folks think that lie holds up?
What is your "heart-shaped star"? The "stone" on your "tongue", the beloved name "blossoming" anyway, even if "distorted." What is the speechlessness those of us of/from/with the Caribbean need to offer up to poems?
The poem "Speechless" seems to take us from a fairy-tale populated dream into our own inarticulate utterance, or failure to speak. Students of Lorde know "it is better speak," (litany for survival) but is it always possible? What if there is a stone on your tongue?

I co-wrote an article with 31 co-authors in a peer-reviewed journal. This is what collaboration & research in the humanities could look like if incentivised. Check out “The World We Became” an underwater speculative design atlas of climates in the year 2350! #worldbuilding#DH

I’ve been photographing letters all day of my mothers from the 1970s. Sometimes archiving begins at home.
As we confirmed again and again that the institution does not care about its workers, the MacStrike ended. As drivers became more violent, speeding towards picket lines, & after the administration made the bargaining team sit for 25 hours, the MacStrike ended
To be clear: the MacStrike ended yesterday, not because a fair deal was reached, but because the administration spent weeks spreading misinformation and enabling/ promoting the coercion of TAs to continue work.
@McMasterU cornered us—encouraged strike-breaking, kept our bargaining team at the table for 25 hours, threatened not to return until March, and gave us a deal w/ a big ‘f*@k you’ written inside.
Im proud of my union but I am ashamed to say I work for this uni.
Fk u Susan.
I hope McMaster does not expect TAs to do 3 weeks worth of additional work beginning December 14th in one week & dishonestly express to everyone that everything is fine.
