NEWTOWN ROCK Gizzi 14U: SOFTBALL
Newtown Rock Gizzi 14U participated in the Show Me the Money Tournament in Jackson Township, NJ from July 10 – July 12, 2026. The team had an excellent showing as they made it to the Championship Finals game before bowing out to Delaware Heart Gold. The competition was fierce as Newtown Rock is a 14U team and they not only competed against teams 16U and 18U but won against some of them.

Newtown Rock Gizzi 14U Show Me the Money Standout Shoutout Performer:

Pitcher Emma Anderson class of 2029 dazzled in the circle winning 3 games in the Show Me the Money Tournament in dominant form. In a win against NJ Lightning Fastpitch 18U Emma Anderson pitched 4.2 innings, did not allow a hit or run and struck out 10 batters. In a win against Invasion Fastpitch Showcase 18U Emma Anderson pitched 5.1 innings allowing only 4 hits, 0 runs, 0 walks and struck out 8 batters. In a win against PA Chaos Gold Ward 16U Emma Anderson pitched all 6.0 innings, allowed only 1 hit, 0 runs and struck out 17 batters. Emma Anderson won all 3 of her games against much older teams and tougher competition and in those 3 wins she did not allow any runs and struck out 35 batters in 15.3 innings.

Recap Wins:

In an 4-1 win against NJ Lightning Fastpitch 18U Jocelyn Cabral lead the offense with 2 RBIs on 2 hits (2 singles) stole 2 bases and played a solid game at catcher. Madison Van Cleef had 2 hits (double, single) and 1 RBI. Jayla Zingaro had 1 hit (single) and 1 RBI. Gwen Gizzi and Alexia Yukniewicz each had a multi-hit game with 2 hits each. Pitcher Emma Anderson earned the win as she did not allow a hit or run and added 10 strikeouts.

In an 5-4 win against Invasion Fastpitch Showcase 18U Jayla Zingaro, Eva Stafniak, Bobbi Bruno and Ava Giafaglione each had 1 hit and 1 RBI. Jocelyn Cabral had 2 walks and played both right field and left field on defense making plays in the game. Pitcher Emma Anderson earned the win as she did not allow a run or walk and added 8 strikeouts.

In an 8-1 win against Intensity KOD/JM 16U Jayla Zingaro hit a home run and had 4 RBIs. Gwen Gizzi and Eva Stafniak each had 2 hits and 1 RBI. Olvia Scaff had 1 hit and 1 RBI. Ava Giafaglione had 1 RBI. Alexia Yukniewicz had a multi-hit game with 2 hits. Jocelyn Cabral had 1 hit and had a strong game catching on defense. Pitcher Casey Nugent earned the win allowing only 1 run.

In an 4-0 win against PA Chaos Gold Ward 16U pitcher Emma Anderson pitched all 6 innings in dominant form as she allowed only 1 hit, 0 runs, 1 walk and struck out 17 batters. Madison Van Cleef hit a double with 2 RBIs. Ava Giafaglione and Olivia Scaff each had 1 hit and 1 RBI. Gwen Gizzi and Eva Stafniak each had 2 hits. Bobbi Bruno had 1 hit and 1 walk. Jocelyn Cabral had 1 hit and played strong in left field on defense.

In a 4-3 win against Connecticut Impact Premier 18U down 3-0 to start the top of the sixth inning, Newtown Rock Gizzi 14U rallied to score 4 runs to win the game 4-3. Alexia Yukniewicz had 1 hit and 2 RBIs. Ava Giafaglione had 1 hit, 1 walk and 1 RBI. Jayla Zingaro had 1 RBI. Pitcher Alexia Yukniewicz earned the win in the circle.
