Today we celebrate World Press Freedom Day, sponsored by UNESCO. Unfortunately, this right is often violated, sometimes flagrantly, sometimes in hidden ways. Let us remember the many journalists and reporters who are victims of war and violence.
Tom Hiddleston talks about returning as Loki in 'AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY':
“When you get asked to come back to tell more story, you get to go more deeply, you get to investigate more profoundly, think more carefully.”

J.R.R. Tolkien famously turned down the Beatles: in the late 1960s, the band pitched a Lord of the Rings film starring themselves and directed by Stanley Kubrick, but Tolkien ultimately refused to grant them the rights to his epic.

Today marks day 65 of Heba Muraisi’s hunger strike.
Day 58 for Kamran Ahmed.
They are now at imminent risk of death and this Labour government remains spineless and cowardly — refusing even to meet their lawyers while lives hang in the balance.
Keir Starmer’s government is not passive; it is actively complicit: enabling genocide abroad, escalating repression at home and giving a green light to Trump’s renewed imperialism.
This is not neutrality. It is collaboration.
Let there be no ambiguity: if Heba or Kamran die, that blood is on the hands of this Labour government.
Our demand is clear and immediate: bail for all remand prisoners. Now.
Thanks to @rianjohnson for a deeply moving instalment of @KnivesOut - and the quiet @U2 connection. It was rich material to dig into.

We continue to protest outside Parliament, weekdays from 11 am until 2pm. Contact your MP to demand that the lorries get in. The food is available but is blocked by the criminal siege of Israel. Join us! Share with your network.
On Gaza - Everyone has long been horrified by what is unfolding in Gaza - but the blocking of humanitarian aid and now plans for a military takeover of Gaza City has taken the conflict into uncharted territory. We are not experts in the politics of the region, but we want our audience to know where we each stand.

Er…sorry, which party are you again?
Yet another reason I will not be voting for Labour at the next election. I wish they would stop chasing Reform voters and actually give us a credible progressive alternative.
