FEMALE ATHLETES‼️‼️
Be proud of who you are and the space you take up in sports. There will be people who underestimate you, overlook your work, or question what you bring to the table, but keep showing up anyway. Keep working, keep leading, keep growing, and keep proving to yourself that you belong here. Your impact goes far beyond the game, and the way you carry yourself can inspire the next generation of girls watching you. Keep going, sports needs strong women like you.❤️

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and during this month I wear a green ribbon in my hair because green symbolizes mental health awareness. I wear this ribbon for everyone who is struggling, but especially for my fellow athletes. 💚
As athletes, we’re taught to be strong all the time. To push through pain, pressure, mistakes, exhaustion, and expectations without letting it show. People see the games, practices, stats, and highlights, but they don’t always see the mental battles that can come with it all.
The anxiety before games. The pressure to constantly perform. The fear of letting your team down. The burnout from always trying to be enough. A lot of athletes struggle silently because asking for help can feel like weakness, when in reality it takes so much strength to admit you’re struggling.
I want every athlete to know that your mental health matters just as much as your physical health. You are more than your stats, your position, your playing time, or the number on your back. One bad game, one mistake, or one hard season does not define you as a person.
I also want to remind people to never ignore someone when they reach out for help. Sometimes speaking up takes every bit of courage someone has left, and being heard can make more of a difference than you realize.
I hope one day mental health in athletics is talked about just as openly as physical injuries are, because some of the hardest battles athletes face are the ones nobody can see.
To every athlete struggling quietly behind the scenes: you are not alone, and you never have to fight those battles by yourself. 💚
