A thread of times my roommates had very cute, very nerdy moments. It will be long and ongoing. I’m mostly keeping it for my own sake because I’m so thankful for them:
Not to be my problematic and predictable self but I still would have liked to see at least one Cassavetes flick on there… shake it up and drop Opening Night on there. But truthfully that’s ok, that’s my one complaint about the list and it’s not the end of the world lol
Also I feel like when I first heard about Daisies in like 2014/15 it was definitely revered but not 28th best film of all time revered, and seeing that shift has been so exciting
Jeanne, Beau Travail, Cléo, Meshes, Daisies, Portrait, Wanda, The Piano, News from Home, Daughters of the Dust, and Gleaners… film history and what we see as prestige is evolving. Jeanne ABOVE Vertigo and Citizen Kane on a list that doesn’t change for 10 years is monumental
EXCLUSIVE: Kate Bush joins me on @BBCWomansHour tomorrow-10am for a very rare broadcast interview; her first in response to her 1985 hit, Running Up That Hill, finally going to number 1, 37 years later. We talk #StrangerThings (of course) and a whole lot more… join us @BBCRadio4
@beakerboy12 I wore it to death on VHS and my parents still talk fondly about watching it. I’ve definitely forgotten a few details so I’m happy to see you post about it so I can try to fill in the blanks
@youngpoultry@sayakamurata@gregsestero Dude those books are both fantastic but I read CSW super recently and I’ve never read anything like it, I love that main character so much
