BREAKING: “THEY PICKED THE WRONG CITY! Bruce Springsteen defies Trump and his ICE goons in powerful speech heard around the nation honoring Renee Good and Alex Pretti! https://t.co/ZiBERL2XCL
Bruce Springsteen took the stage at the massive “No Kings” rally in St. Paul, Minnesota, and delivered a powerful, emotional address that brought the crowd to its feet before he began his performance.
“Well, this past winter, federal troops brought death and terror to the streets of Minneapolis. Well, they picked the wrong city,” Springsteen said to thunderous applause. “The power and the solidarity of the people of Minneapolis and of Minnesota was an inspiration to the entire country. Your strength and your commitment told us that this is still America.”
He continued with a direct jab at the Trump administration:
“And this reactionary nightmare and these invasions of American cities will not stand. You gave us hope, you gave us courage…”
Springsteen then honored the victims by name.
“For those who gave their lives -- Renee Good, mother of three, brutally murdered, Alex Pretti, a VA nurse, executed by ICE, shot in the back and left to die in the street without even the decency of our lawless government investigating their deaths. Their bravery, their sacrifice, and their names will not be forgotten.”
He closed the speech with a powerful new verse he wrote for the occasion, describing citizens standing up against “King Trumps private army from the DHS” amid smoke and rubber bullets.
This is Bruce Springsteen talking about the America we all love and fear fear losing at the hands of Trump and his minions – using his platform to call out authoritarian overreach, honor the fallen, and remind the country that resistance is still alive.
The nationwide “No Kings” rallies are proving that millions of Americans refuse to accept Trump’s vision of unchecked power, and are willing to fight back. For decades, Springsteen has written and sang about the America he loves, warts and all, and today used his platform to help safeguard the way of life he’s been documenting for his legions of fans for years.

Americans no longer believe a good life is attainable
“As a younger millennial, I'm really beginning to question when we're going to call it a f*cking day — We've been sold a f*cking lie pretty much our entire lives, and that this American dream is not f*cking attainable. It's not attainable.
It was attainable for the older generations as we know. They were able to work their 40 hours a week and reap the benefits. Whereas we, we have to work 2 to 3 jobs”
“I'm not f*cking doing it. I'm not f*cking participating in this — I'm f*cking exhausted. I'm exhausted. I have worked since I was 14 years old. I think most millennials are in the same boat. We've been working forever and we're f*cking burnt out. There's been many phases throughout my life where I've had to work multiple jobs just to get by, just to get by, and I have nothing to show for it.
I don't have a house. My car, I've been driving the same car since I was in college, so 10 years, over 10 years, it's f*cking falling apart. I can barely afford groceries. I'm living with my parents because I can't afford to rent on my own.
People say, oh, well just get roommates. I'm 30 fucking years old. I shouldn't have to live with f*cking roommates. I'm an adult. I was able to live on my own before. Not anymore, though.
All of our clothes are fucking plastic. All of our food is poisonous. It f*cking toxic, and we're paying top dollar for it. I don't have healthcare because when I was laid off, obviously I lost my insurance and I found a way to work for myself, but I, I can't afford, I can't afford healthcare. If I do need something, I'm paying out of pocket. The list just goes. It's never ending. And I think we're all just at a f*cking point where we're, we're done, we're exhausted.“
Woman moved to America and says our food is poison
“I grew up in Switzerland and no one believes me when I say the American food system is rigged... I used to eat pasta, pizza, everything — and I was skinny and fit and I looked great. Okay then I moved to America. Became so active, I became a runner, I started eating gluten free, I literally counted my calories and I gained 30 pounds.
It is not the European lifestyle, it is the food itself. Food in Europe is just nutritious. Like you'll eat pizza and it's actually nutritious for you because of the grains. But then you come here to America and you have flour and it's just literally bleach. You're eating bleach.”
We shouldn’t have to live like this

@blazers_palace Biggest disappointment ever. Wasted a crap ton of money for the biggest bench boy the league has EVER seen. Then on top of sucking at basketball he can’t even be civil on a kids game. Shameful human being.
"Back in China, 5.2 million people watched Tencent’s free broadcast of the Blazers’ exhibition against the Memphis Grizzlies, according to an NBA official, dwarfing the 1.1 million Americans who watched No. 1 pick Cooper Flagg’s debut for the Dallas Mavericks on ESPN."
