Lorenzo Salgado Araujo should still be alive.
Trump’s mass deportation machine isn’t about keeping communities safe. It’s about power, intimidation, and cruelty.
His family deserves justice and accountability.
This week marks one year since Trump signed the "Big Beautiful Bill."
A year later, millions have lost health care. Families are struggling to put food on the table. And Republicans are celebrating.
They gutted programs you rely on so billionaires could get another tax break.
Millions of Americans are scraping together enough for burgers, fireworks, & a Fourth of July with the people they love.
Donald Trump is flying aboard a $400 million luxury jet gifted by Qatar.
Families are feeling the turbulence.
Trump is flying over the mess he made.
Donald Trump tried to rewrite the Constitution.
Today, he lost.
Birthright citizenship is guaranteed by the 14th Amendment, and no president can take that away with an executive order.
The Trump administration gutted USAID, cut off vital assistance, and is still withholding $19 billion that Congress approved.
Today I joined advocates to demand these funds be released to prevent disease, support our allies, and protect America’s interests abroad.
Trump's mass deportation agenda just got another boost from the Supreme Court's MAGA majority.
By allowing TPS protections to be stripped from more than 350,000 Haitians and thousands of Syrians, the Court is helping Trump target people who came here legally, built lives here, and contribute to our communities every day.
This was never about the "worst of the worst." It's an attack on legal immigration.
Trump is holding a bipartisan affordable housing bill hostage to force Congress to pass his voter suppression bill.
Apparently making it harder to vote is a higher priority than making it easier to afford a home.
Black women have always stood up to protect our communities. @RepLaMonica did just that when she showed up to Delaney Hall. Now she’s facing unwarranted persecution.
We are joining @HouseDemocrats to support @RepLaMonica because we stand against targeting elected officials for doing their jobs.
We will always stand with DWC members who are fighting for their communities.
I went to see Trump’s Reflecting Pool disaster myself.
Green water. Bad smell. Peeling paint. Fencing is going up. It’s an utter mess.
Taxpayers paid $14M + after a no-bid contract went to a contractor tied to Trump’s golf club.
@RepRobertGarcia is right: we need answers.
Fourteen years ago, America made a commitment to Dreamers.
Since then, DACA recipients have built careers, raised families, paid taxes, and strengthened our communities.
After 14 years of success, Dreamers deserve permanent protections, not uncertainty.
#DACA#HomeIsHere #Dreamers
Today marks the 14th Anniversary of DACA, and I had the chance to meet with some DACA recipients and advocates in my district this morning to talk about what this program has meant for them and their families.
DACA has provided them with many opportunities, but the fears of lapses in status, delays in renewals, and even the cancellation of DACA altogether has left hundreds of thousands of people in limbo. It is critical that we stand up for Dreamers and create a path to citizenship that is so desperately needed.
When I asked Secretary Mullin to sell the luxury DHS jets, he asked, “Why should I?”
My answer is simple. Secretary Noem’s decision to bill the taxpayers for top of the line luxury jets was wasteful and irresponsible.
Sell the jets, Mr. Secretary.
Remember when Bondi accused me of “misrepresenting” her when I asked whether Trump knew about Epstein’s crimes beforehand?
Well, the transcripts are out.
And it turns out she may need to do some explaining to Trump.
MUST-WATCH Rep. Walkinshaw just tore into Sec. Mullin for lecturing us about spending while flying on a luxury Gulfstream G700.
Republicans love talking about fiscal responsibility until the taxpayer-funded perks belong to them.
"You are deficit riding on a Gulf Stream G700."
My bill forces DHS to notify Congress when someone is seriously injured or killed in its custody or at the hands of its personnel.
It also requires independent investigations and a report to Congress.
Accountability should not depend on whether someone was filming.
🧵: An ICE officer shot and killed Renee Good, a Minneapolis mother of three.
Because she wasn’t technically “in custody,” DHS never officially notified Congress.
That is a dangerous loophole.
When asked whether Trump knew about Epstein’s crimes before they became public, Pam Bondi had the opportunity to say he knew nothing, as he has said.
Instead, she said: “I don’t know” and “I’m not certain of the extent of his knowledge.”
Survivors & the American people deserve those answers under oath and on camera.
Today, I officially became the Democratic nominee for Congress in Virginia’s 11th District.
I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue fighting for Virginians in Washington.
Now, we turn our focus to November: electing Democrats and flipping the House.
