Meet Akash Pandey, who completed his https://t.co/YSvOF5fxhn from IIT BHU in 2016. Then he was unemployed for almost 3 years, preparing for UPSC. He used up his savings and was left with just ₹1,200. Then he quit it and now his gross salary puts him in the top 2% of US income earners.

After 3 years of preparing for UPSC, he was exhausted and thought of getting back into the industry. The option left for him was to pursue a master's degree in the US at New York University.

In order to get into that college, he needed to have a good profile. So, he tried applying for jobs, and many people questioned him, like, “You graduated from IIT, and how come you are here for ₹40,000 per month?”

In April 2019, he went back to IIT BHU and begged all the CS professors to allow him to do a project under them. One door opened when Prof. K. Shukla agreed, and for the next 6 months, he published a paper, prepared for the GRE, got recommendation letters, and worked on his SOP.

Finally, he secured admission to NYU and moved to the US. He completed his master's in 2022, interned at AWS Seattle, then worked at Synop, and now he is a Software Engineer II at Rippling. 🔥

Knowing when to quit matters just as much as knowing when to keep going.
