By God's grace, a disciple of Jesus Christ, and of no man. Yet iron sharpens iron.
All the hard questions of life are answered by the hard Gospel, fear not.
@RSprouseNews@wusa9 Don't look at this as a message from God about America and what our gov't should do. Look at it as a reminder from God that our power is puny, and our time is limited. How will we stand before our Creator when He asks if we loved all neighbors?
In Christ alone there is safety.
@Soteriology101 All of those texts are descriptive of the gift of humility given by God, not prescriptive for how to earn salvation. True humility is knowing that we are saved by God's grace alone.
And how is it humble to stand before God and deny that His Spirit is necessary to give new life?
@JesseDornfeld@Sean_McDowell@talbottheology@BiolaUniversity Keeping with the understanding that the prophecies in Revelation are written in the style of most Old Testament prophecies -- filled with symbolism -- Satan is indeed bound and unable to pull away any of God's elect from Christ the Savior.
@Jondaphemp@Soteriology101 Paul is writing Scripture and not adding to the Old Testament texts. He is showing the parallels in how God chooses to relate to the generations of people in His creation, which always remains under a constant overarching principle of election by grace and mercy only.
@BKJulien524@Soteriology101 Indeed He did. God created human beings for destruction, so that He could save a remnant.
The Bible reveals a relationship between God and His creation that is completely unlike anything desired or imagined by the creatures, and that is one way we know it is true.
@BKJulien524@Soteriology101 The animation and description depict God desiring to pull someone up, but then defeating His desire.
But God is not divided against Himself, and He accomplishes all He intends. Depicting Him as otherwise is the same as saying it, that is blasphemy against the Holy Almighty.
@Soteriology101 Who's complaining? Not anyone who believes the ultimate and decisive decision-maker in any given situation is God.
The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard our hearts and our minds in Christ Jesus.
I agree with the one who happens to be still living. The other two either retracted those statements or are currently serving their purpose as vessels of God's wrath, never repenting from their worship and idolatry of free will, never submitting to the truth that salvation belongs to the Lord.
What a ridiculous and hopeless line of thought this whole idea of LFW really is. It is presented by LFW proponents as if LFW is something valuable and to be desired. As if our LFW would lead us to a better existence than what our Creator and Almighty Holy God has set up for us to experience in unity with Him. As if anything oitside of God could be better than in Him. As if we know better than Him. And as if God's decisions, arrangements, and system of justice are less than perfect.
Yet these arguments for LFW play a useful role in the advancement of God's Kingdom, presenting the elect with a contrast with which they can compare, and another reason to rejoice that God's grace has delivered us from such blasphemous thinking. Instead in our salvation and path to sanctification we have peace and joy discovering, submitting, and then knowing that God holds us securely and most assuredly in His love, free from error, and free from worry.
