@Boxfan72@TheGenius42@HantsPolice They handcuffed the suspect. Don't judge actions using hindsight.
Also then the perpetrators told the cops he hadn't been stabbed they shut them down and said he said he's been stabbed so they're going to check him anyway.
But i guess you're ignoring that part.
@Jamiepartridg19@JackWDart Genuine question, do you have any evidence that happened you can show me? Because I've only seen rumors of that on social media so far.
But its also related to why Henry was handcuffed.
@Jamiepartridg19@JackWDart Henry was put into handcuffs because the report was he was a violent drunk and you don't want to be stabbed in the neck while treating somebody. It's an extremely dangerous position to be in.
And yeah that's in the police guidebook on handcuffs use.
@connor_hoo41368@Bbmorg They heard it was a violent drunk boy with a head wound. they turned up and found a boy smelling of alcohol with blood on his face and didn't see an evidence of a stab wound. That's why they started checking for a skull fracture and used a torch to check his pupil dilation
@Boxfan72@TheGenius42@HantsPolice I haven't seen any evidence either way but it depends if he's already been searched or not when they arrested him.
In this case they were kept on Henry because they were trying to save his life and never had the time to carry out a search.
@Boxfan72@TheGenius42@HantsPolice you mean just believe a suspect accused of a violent crime smelling of alcohol, slurring his words with an evident head wound and no evidence of a stabbing?
@icp456@nazirafzal Also its extremely dangerous to be leaning over a violent suspect not being able to see his hands while treating him. 1 hidden knife and the cop is dead. That's why its standard process for pretty much any police force.
@icp456@nazirafzal The didn't put much weight into it because they were told he was drunk and violent and he had blood on his face and smelled of alcohol and they didn't see any evidence of a stabbing from their quick check.
So they believed the unknown people and dispatch over the suspect.
@icp456@nazirafzal No what? The call to dispatch said he had smashed his head on the ground. They came. Said he had blood on his face. Checked his neck, checked his mouth, checked his skull for fractures. Shined a torch in his eyes to check for pupil dilation and called an ambulance.
@icp456@nazirafzal Disagree, watch the video.
Henry bled to death while the cops were trying to save his life from a head wound they were told he had.
Henry was put in a recovery position to aid his breathing and he was actively being treated, Just for the wrong thing.
@TheGenius42@Boxfan72@HantsPolice Yeah exactly. Criminals lie.
They did the right thing by handcuffing and then treating him. Removes the danger and let's them focus on saving him.
@TheGenius42@HantsPolice https://t.co/0qZ2RdGfXU
This is the type of thing police have to be wary of while dealing with potentially violent suspects.
Things can turn from friendly to dead in a second. if they want to treat him they can't be worried about him reaching for a knife at point blank range.
@TheGenius42@HantsPolice Before putting him to his side to aid with his breathing, checking him where he said he was stabbed, checking his head and mouth for possible causes of his difficulty breathing, and calling for actual medics.
@Boxfan72@TheGenius42@HantsPolice So cops should just believe everything a suspect says based on just their word and not restrain them?
There's a good reason its standard procedure to handcuff a suspect accused of violent crimes.
@BermondseyGump@TheGenius42@HantsPolice Moving him over to his side to aid with his breathing counts as the recovery position.
Handcuffing him is just standard procedure to protect themselves when dealing with suspects accused of violent crimes.
@TheGenius42@HantsPolice Its 100% true? Call is released. officers were told he had jumped over a wall and smashed his head on the ground.
Bodycam shows the two officers then arrived and started treating him for a head wound, put him in a recovery position. Checked his skull, mouth and pupil dilation.
