Getting Too Tall To Dribble... Unless It's Ronaldo

People are suddenly biomechanics experts when it suits them.

Look at the Yamal post: "+13 cm in one year, 1.83m at 18... He's already lost explosiveness and balance. If he puts on another 5cm, it's over."
Everyone nods. "Yeah, physics. The higher the height, the harder to dribble. Stiffness. Center of gravity. It makes sense."

But notice how they switch their brains off when it comes to Cristiano Ronaldo.

For 20 years people expected Ronaldo 1.87m, built like a tank to dribble like a 1.70m midget.
"Why isn’t he doing stepovers every 2 seconds?"
"Why isn’t he as nimble as Messi?"
As if a man who grew into a 90kg athletic frame at that height should move the same as someone 17cm shorter.

The same people warning that Yamal at 1.88m will "lose his game" are the ones who spent 15 years criticizing Ronaldo for adapting his game.

Here’s the truth they don’t want to say: It takes more than hard work to do what Ronaldo did with his body.

You need cheat-code talent to know WHEN to change, HOW to change, and WHAT to change.

Young Ronaldo: 2007-2009. Dribbling winger. 30+ stepovers, twisting ankles.

Peak Ronaldo: 2014-2018. Athlete. Explosive cuts, power, headers. Still elite dribbling, but efficient.

Late Ronaldo: 2021-now. Poacher. Positioning, timing, finishing.

He read his body. He adapted to his height, to his weight, to his age. And he stayed world-class through all 3 versions.

Meanwhile Messi kept almost the same shape his whole career. 1.70m. Low center of gravity. Same dribbling base from age 18 to 36. God-given, and he mastered it. Incredible.

But to pretend Ronaldo’s adaptation was "easy" or "just hard work" is disrespect.
Taller players lose explosiveness. Taller players get stiffer. That’s biomechanics.
Ronaldo fought that for 2 decades and still scored 900+ goals. That’s not normal. That’s talent + IQ + work.

Very soon people will appreciate Ronaldo for exactly this. For understanding that the higher the height, the harder the dribble... and still finding a way to dominate anyway.

Stop sleepwalking through this. You can’t praise physics for Yamal and ignore it for Ronaldo.
