@savehulmehip followers of the Hipp know variety is the spice of life but blimey ! June 1923 saw a week of opera. Imperial Light Opera Company. 5 operas over 6 nights. The Lily of Killarney on Wednesday sure to have delight Broadhead's Irish audience. Based on Boucicault play.
@neeran Remember the days when you entered competitions by answering questions and submitting your entry on a postcard. Many so called "competitions" are just a phone call costing pounds. You could make your choice of BBC sports person. Noway you get to pick one of their choices.
@MsPocketRocket It's Angels. Funny enough one of the actors involved, possibly Judith Jacobs, is currently appearing in a advert for a charity caring for the terminally ill. She plays a Nurse !
The esteemed sports journalist Oliver Holt produced a list of "The 100 greatest footballers of all time" but failed to include "The King of the Kippax". There are many players listed he can not possibly have seen play.
Brace yourself, Norman Whiteside makes the list !!

@wizzo3333 I saw Glyn make his debut. Night match v Birm. Lost 4:1 if memory serves. Up against Trevor Smith an England International who had played against City in Cup Final in 56. Glyn hardly had a touch. What a servant he was. Best right footed left back l've ever seen.
@mspinks10 It's a different world to the "Brian who" days. That said Horton played decent football. Keeping well enough. I was 80 yesterday and trying to see it as a milestone not a millstone. Cheers.
@mspinks10 Martin, l think l had a message from you but lost it in seconds. Me and technology are not on same wave length. Trust you are well. Are you at match on Sunday ?
