Pre-Roe, I was 8 yrs old. I came home from school to find my Mom lying in a puddle of blood. She was weak & asked me to call a neighbor. She was miscarrying, but the embryo would not abort. For 48 hours, she bled while doctors transfused blood, waiting. Abortions were illegal.
So many people citing The Hunger Games and The Handmaid’s Tale today, forgetting the meta critique of both books is that they are founded on the conceit of, “What if we treated white people the way we already treat people of color?” Irony thick enough to stand a spoon in.
if you actually cared about kids you should probably put more funding into schools, health care, shelters, foster care, and food programs, not force people who don't want kids to have them
