It's been a few between posts, but I figure moving country is good reason for trading a break. Getting back into the stitching groove with this little piece from @modernfolkembroidery @ Soja, Okayama https://t.co/Wik2e8Zjj5
We got bikes today! Riding a bike everywhere is very different in Japan. You're allowed to ride on the footpath, cars always give way to you, most bikes don't have any gears and no one is wearing Lycra! @ Soja, Okayama https://t.co/qmfGZvgEnO
Les Misérables by Victor Hugo 4 out of 5 stars. At over 1200 pages I thought this was going to be areal slog, but it kept me interested the whole way as the intricate web connecting the characters became more tightly wound. #bookreview

Babel by RF Kuang - 4 out of 5 stars. I love Kuang's endings. They are honest and inevitable. Very close to 5 stars, but some characters were too much of a caricature. Loved the footnotes, wish there had been more of them. #bookreview#audiobook
Killing Commendatore by Haruki Murakami - 4 out of 5 stars. Some slightly disappointing resolutions, but otherwise a really good read, a nice mix of otherworldly stuff intruding on the realism. #bookreviews#audiobook
Finished reading Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir. 5 out of 5 stars. Just remember it's Science *Fiction* and this is a fantastic read. Had me the while way through, not a single slow moment. #BookReview#scifi
Finished reading What I Talk About When I Talk About Running by Haruki Murakami. 5 out of 5 stars. Makes you want to put on your shoes and run a marathon in the hope that it will make you even a fraction of the author Murakami is. #BookReview
Finished reading White Fang by Jack London. 3 out of 5 stars. Pretty much Call of the Wild Redux but with even more anthropomorphisation (is that a word?) of animals #BookReview
Finished reading Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo. 3 out of 5 stars. Entertaining enough I guess, but didn't have anything new to add to the old 'orphan turns out to have powers that can save the world' trope. #BookReview#audiobook
Finished reading Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens. 4 out of 5 stars. Very different to the musical I remember from my childhood, so much darker. #BookReview#audiobook
