Senator, before you post another one of these, try reading the report you personally requested from the GAO. "Nearly TRIPLED" is an absolute headcount, not a rate — Amazon's U.S. workforce grew from about 1.3 million in 2020 to roughly 1.58 million today. More employees means more bodies show up on an assistance roll somewhere. That's not a moral indictment of Bezos. That's fifth-grade arithmetic, and my freshmen would catch that error faster than your policy shop did. The brain is an amazing organ — it starts working in the womb and apparently stops the day you get elected to the Senate. You're not wrong here, Senator. You're not even on the same map as right.

SNAP and Medicaid eligibility is HOUSEHOLD income, not individual wage, a detail a snollygoster hopes nobody checks. Amazon's average fulfillment pay runs over $22/hour, total comp near $29-30, health coverage from day one — same plan the executives get — for about five bucks a week. A single full-time Amazon employee usually clears the threshold on their own; a household with kids and reduced hours might not. Blame the man employing 1.5 million Americans instead of the man who's been in the Senate so long the only thing he's passed lately is a spending bill. Amazon paid roughly $109 billion in global taxes last year alone. What has the Senate produced with sixty years and trillions? The VA still has a wait-time crisis I could tell you about personally. If competence were currency, you'd all be filing for bankruptcy.

Speaking of houses — you own three, Senator. Burlington. A D.C. rowhouse. A place on Lake Champlain. Any currently sheltering a family sleeping in their car while you tour on a chartered jet? Didn't think so. Your campaign reportedly dropped over half a million dollars on private aviation in a single year "fighting oligarchy" — about as useful as a cordless extension cord for a man demanding Bezos's yacht get taxed into the sea. You're cosplaying the poor while living the exact lifestyle you scream about, and that has a name: Quinn's Law Number Seven — it's different when you're a Democrat. Things a conservative gets crucified for are just Tuesday for you. You're a cumberworld with a Senate parking pass, not a revolutionary.

Wealth isn't a bathtub of water sitting in a vault while children go thirsty. It behaves like a farm — capital gets planted, grows, employs people, and moves through paychecks long before it reaches a yacht deck. Bezos made roughly this point on CNBC this year. All hat, no cattle, Senator.

My standing offer to every colleague tweeting "tax the rich" between fundraisers: file with only the standard deduction, no itemizing, no accountant, and voluntarily send the IRS DOUBLE what they say you owe — that's the day I take the sermon seriously. Until then you're a mountebank auditioning to replace the people you're pretending to fight.

Now the "living wage" line. A mandated wage floor hits the least experienced workers first — a review of over a hundred minimum wage studies found two-thirds showed negative employment effects, worst among teens and workers without a diploma, disproportionately Black and Brown kids chasing their FIRST job. Demand a floor Amazon and McDonald's can't justify paying an untrained sixteen-year-old, and you're sawing off the first rung for the kids who need it most, then blaming Bezos when they can't climb. McDonald's already pays over minimum and treats crew as the stepping stone it is; Walmart gets people into six figures debt-free. Nobody is blocking that ladder, except, apparently, you. A policy with a documented employment cost among Black teenagers seeking their first job is a strange hill to plant a fairness flag on, Senator. Sit with what that actually says about who your policy serves.

There's a novel that reads like it was written eighty years early, just for you, and the parallels keep multiplying the longer I sit with them. A farm full of animals gets promised the harvest shared equally once the humans are thrown out; everyone works half to death for the cause. By the final chapter the pigs have moved into the farmhouse, walking upright, drinking from the good glasses, lecturing the barnyard about solidarity while the workhorses get hauled off once they're no longer useful. Swap Napoleon for a guy with three houses and a jet budget, still hollering that HE'S the one fighting the pigs, and the parable updates itself without changing a word.

Every revolution needs its Squealer — the mouthpiece who explains, endlessly and reasonably, why the milk and apples have to go to leadership for everyone's own good. That role gets filled by whichever staffer drafts the next "billionaires didn't build this" post. And there's always a Boxer — the devoted workhorse who believes every slogan, throws his back into the windmill, and asks no questions about where the profits land, until the day he's no longer strong enough to pull the cart and gets sold to the knacker while the pigs toast his memory with a bottle bought off his labor. That's the Amazon warehouse worker in your version of the story. You haven't noticed you're the one holding the bill of sale.

The changing rules on the barn wall apply too. The commandment starts as "all animals are equal." By the end it's quietly amended into something only leadership can explain with a straight face, the way "tax the rich" has quietly become "tax the rich, except my three houses, my jet budget, and every deduction my own committee happens to write." You can put lipstick on a pig, Senator, but the barnyard notices it's still a pig.

Even Mollie gets a cameo — the vain mare who left entirely because she preferred ribbons to actually living under the system she'd nodded along with. A man who charters $550,000 of private aviation in a year while lecturing the rest of us about excess isn't staying on the farm either. He's just collecting applause for pretending he never left.

Speaking of barnyards — a socialist GRADING system in my classroom: everyone gets the class average, the kid who earned it fair gets bumped down to prop up the one who skipped forty days, and the engine shuts off within a semester. A socialist WORKPLACE review would be worse. Picture it: "exceeds expectations" and "didn't show up Tuesday" both land on "comrade, adequate contribution noted," raises redistributed from your best performer to whoever complained loudest, handbook just "solidarity" printed four hundred times, quarterly bonuses replaced with a participation ribbon and a shared bag of turnips. You wouldn't survive a week under that system. Neither would the nurse in Queens you claim to fight for.

On January 10, 1963, Congressman A.S. Herlong Jr. read 45 Communist Goals into the Congressional Record. Goal 15: capture one or both American political parties. You've caucused with one since before some of these Amazon workers were born.

Final grade, Senator: not fighting oligarchy, just a gascon with a chartered jet account, and no yacht photo changes the math on Amazon's headcount growth. This isn't a hot take, it's arithmetic — I've taught it to teenagers in a district the system gave up on, on a salary smaller than one quarter of your private aviation budget.

But what do I know — I'm only a medically retired Army combat medic and physics teacher who reads the GAO reports politicians commission before tweeting about them, which still beats a sitting Senator.

Nobody wants to be the one to say "these people shouldn't come here". It's unpopular to say anything that indicates racism.

But if you've never been to India or Bangladesh, or Pakistan, or any of the places that many of the new migrants are coming from, you cannot claim to know they will treat the environment like foundational Americans will.

The people from those places I mentioned have NO REGARD for the environment whatsoever.

In every country they have migrated to, they have immediately begun to practice the same slovenly, irresponsible practices they did in their homelands.

In the US, especially Texas, in Canada, in Australia (I can especially vouch for the latter) they are going to remote areas and just dumping huge amounts of waste.

If you don't believe me, or you just think I'm filled with hate for no reason, actually do your homework and check. The evidence is there and it's irrefutable.

North America is irreplaceable. I'm biased of course, but it is the most magnificent land on Earth for natural environment and wildlife.

Part of protecting it is going to involve doing things liberals don't want to do, including telling some people they cannot migrate here in vast numbers.

But we all MUST agree on this. We'll only get one shot at it, and if we fail, we'll see our magnificent rivers turn into the filth-clogged waterways we see in India and elsewhere.
