The Slow Strangling of Cuba
Since returning to office, Donald Trump has launched military strikes against a string of weaker nations. Even as he wages war on Iran, he now says Cuba is next.
Trump is demanding that Cuba accept a “friendly takeover” by the United States — or suffer the fate he imposed on Venezuela’s president, Nicolás Maduro.
His strategy begins with economic strangulation. The tightening U.S. blockade has already pushed Cuba deeper into humanitarian crisis, spreading hunger across the island.
Because Cuba depends on oil for roughly 90% of its electricity, the blockade on energy imports is pushing parts of the country into near-total grid collapse. Entire provinces have been plunged into darkness. Water pumping stations have shut down, leaving many communities without running water.
Fuel shortages have halted tractors and the transport of crops, sending food prices soaring. The consequences are now spilling into the health system. Hospitals struggle with blackouts and fuel shortages, while the U.N. warns that more than five million Cubans with chronic illnesses face grave risks.
This is not collateral damage. It is the deliberate targeting of the Cuban people.
And much of the world watches in silence as a nation of eleven million people is slowly strangled. https://t.co/V5nAe3cN3J
A strategic windfall for the United States: The Trump-Netanyahu war on Iran has disrupted Middle Eastern oil and LNG exports. But, amid surging global energy prices, one country is making a killing — the U.S.
Already the world’s largest LNG exporter, the U.S. also produces more oil than Saudi Arabia and Russia combined. With no Strait of Hormuz bottleneck threatening its shipments, American energy exporters are reaping windfall profits.
With Qatari production halted and other Middle Eastern supplies disrupted, LNG prices have surged to multi-year highs. Spot prices in Asia have doubled, while European gas prices have jumped more than 40%.
The result is a striking geopolitical irony: a war that destabilizes Middle Eastern energy supplies is strengthening the global market position of the U.S.
Few wars so neatly reward the very power leading the armed conflict.

Either play a sport with the spirit of sportspersons or don't play at all. We set a terrible example for young sportspersons using the pitch for churlish bickering & politics. This whole cricket fiasco has been handled terribly by unfit morons who've never played a sport.
Such a disgusting man, yuck. There’s disagreement with someone’s work and then there’s this — what to even call it? Jealousy? Misogyny? Cruelty?
To the 100 odd mutuals I have with this man — please evaluate the dirt you are encouraging.

"When a journalist becomes a spreader of hate and lies, instigator of mob lynching, cheerleader for the govt, it becomes an instrument to kill democracy. When hundreds of news channels repeat the same, They become a weapon to kill democracy. Most of the Indian Mainstream media is a disgrace to democracy and humanity. Whenever you get a chance, please support real journalism, You will get a good democracy"

In Mizoram’s Aizawl, thousands gathered in protest last month against a Congress candidate from the Lunglei South constituency.
It was not because the candidate had a criminal record or was not qualified. The problem was who the 49yo woman had married: a non-Mizo.
Stay with me.
Newsclick was razed to the ground on the so called allegation of propagating pro-china agenda and yet the Government is head over heels for business deals with China.

News channels in India aren’t known to ask the ruling party uncomfortable questions. For this reason alone, NDTV stood out ever since the BJP came to power in 2014.
So, what happened after Gautam Adani - known to have close ties to Modi - took over NDTV?
