Shame on @Swiggy for treating its delivery partners this way.
We placed an order from Baskin Robbins that should have arrived in 45 minutes. Instead, after 50 minutes, the delivery executive came to our doorstep without the order because the restaurant had been closed since the afternoon.
He had video proof, proof that he had reached the location, and messages sent to Swiggy asking for help—but Swiggy never responded. We even called the restaurant ourselves, and they confirmed they had been closed for hours. So why was Swiggy still accepting orders?
We got our refund, but that’s not the issue.
Despite repeatedly telling Swiggy that the delivery executive was not at fault and had all the evidence, they still slapped him with an ₹850 penalty.
To make matters worse, Swiggy customer care disconnected our call while we were trying to resolve the issue. They also kept insisting they were trying to contact the delivery executive, even though he was standing right in front of us and didnt receive a single call.
This is unacceptable. A company worth billions should not be forcing hardworking delivery partners to pay for its own system failures. Stop punishing the people who keep your business running and take responsibility for your own mistakes.

Homebound has been shortlisted for Best International Feature Film at the 98th Academy Awards.
We’re deeply grateful for the extraordinary love and support we've received from around the world.
i loved lord byron’s quote at the end of frankenstein the film, “and thus the heart will break, yet brokenly live on.” it’s as simple as that, grief will catch us all but so will love
Sitting across from him is the highest point in my career in cinema. Mr. Martin Scorsese, the EP on #Homebound hosted a screening and did a QnA with me in NYC!
I was obviously nervous and sweating about doing a QnA with the master. Mr. Scorsese saw that in the green room. He narrated a funny anecdote about how he was mistaken by the cops to be the hillside strangler. He did that because he wanted to calm me down without even me being aware of it. That’s the generous selfless master that he is. I don’t know what future holds for this film but this right here is the biggest award for me.
Thank you for all who came and blessed us for our Oscar campaign. Specially chuffed to have Mira Nair come for our screening. ❤️
Some of you have expressed concerns about reports claiming that the family whose life inspired Homebound was compensated with a mere ₹10,000—a shamefully low amount. I want to clarify that this sum was a small token I personally gave to Ram Charan ji (Amrit’s father) many years ago during my initial research, simply as a parting gesture.
Please do not mistake this for the full extent of the compensation provided. Neither I, not the producers would ever reduce such a deeply personal story to such a pittance. The families’ contributions are invaluable and deeply meaningful to me. We have honored their trust and stories with sincere respect and significant support. They have expressed their happiness with me about the same and I personally don’t want to mention the number because that would disrespect the bond I share with Amrit and Saiyub—the original heroes of Homebound.
just finished all of sally rooney’s novels. is anyone perhaps interested in forging an unconventional but genuine, tender human connection that will soothe the apathy toward my own well-being by which i’ve been plagued for years & years?
If you want more movies like Homebound to be made, watch it in the cinema hall instead of this juvenile “what’s the point of watching with cuts”.
The cuts are insignificant and if you don’t watch such films won’t be made.
“अपने ही पानी में पिघल जाना बर्फ का मुक़द्दर होता है”
#Homebound has travelled across festivals around the world but its true identity lies in its return—its homebound journey back to the motherland.
And for me, it means a long arduous wait over a decade to put out a second film. Ten years of one battle after another with my own self (Cheers, PTA!).
Today, it finally releases in theatres.
And now it belongs to you as much it ever did to us.
Don’t pay heed to rumours. Please go watch #Homebound in theatres only.
It’s a story meant to be experienced together - a reflection of our collective humanity. Maybe you will find something in it that you’ve lost along the way.
