Another PhD chapter published! Punch line: artificial selection against jacks in threatened Pacific salmon is unlikely to affect female fitness https://t.co/jsZKR4cXM0

“The book blatantly and repeatedly commands students to “solve the inequality” even though they did not cause it and are not responsible for it.”
Best thing I’ve read in a newspaper in months.
My first #PhD chapter is published in @EvolAppJournal ! We show that length at maturity isn't heritable between jack Coho salmon and their daughters, which suggests increasing hatchery broodstock life history variation won't reduce population growth. https://t.co/Z5BB47eld3
Is this the kind of thing where you just write about your interest and qualifications? Or is there more that's expected that you're just supposed to guess at? #phdadvice#postdocjobs#postdocs
Help! When applying for a postdoc that asks for "applications, curriculum vitae, copies of transcripts and contact info for references", but doesn't specify what should be in the *application*, are they just looking for a cover letter? #phdlife#phdchat#postdoc#AcademicTwitter
While the #Evol2021 virtual conference was down this morning, I re-submitted my first PhD chapter for the **7TH TIME**. Anyone else been trying to get a chapter published since February 2019?

@sarahjmcpeek It also doesn't like alleles ("illegals"), dimorphism ("dem orphans"), or loci ("close eye"). Editing the transcript is infinitely more entertaining than expected!
editing the transcript of my talk for the #evol2021 meeting and came across this gem: "this is the scenario in which enchiladas conflict comes into play..."
...tempted not to fix it
