I don’t know about the ones targeting children this young, but I’ve been seeing a very disturbing trend among young graduates forming too personal a relationship because of a variety of reasons:
1. General lack of professionalism. As in they honestly don’t know how to act in a professional manner. Everything from clothes to oversharing.
2. Self-centered world view wherein their needs outweigh any other consideration
3. Lack of accountability and feeling as though everything will be handled via a warning and talk session
4. The colleges pushing relationship building as the preferred method of getting kids to do work without guidelines as to where to draw boundaries.
5. General immaturity which has them identifying and bonding with kids over adults
About a year ago, a guy tried to kill three X employees with an axe outside the former Twitter HQ in SF. They reported it to the police, but nothing was done.
He later killed someone with that axe.
This insanity needs to stop.
