At a family dinner, my uncle said women were "too weak" for physically demanding jobs. My grandma looked at him and said, "I gave birth without anesthesia. You called an ambulance because of kidney stones." The table went completely silent.
This is what they won’t talk about when it comes to Philly…
What an amazing moment from last night. Jordan Walker & his family seem like some of the coolest people alive - Hard not to be happy for them. Legit impossible to not be romantic about baseball.
What you’re witnessing here on this video is two girls that have been bullying the teenage girl that lives in this house . They recently went to her home where her mother is having another baby, and is due in two weeks. They threw a firecracker into the window of the new nursery that she had just decorated with all of the furnishings that she received from the baby shower.. The whole room went up in flames. Everything is in ashes, luckily the rest of the house wasn’t too damaged. This is what parents are raising out there and sending out into the world. Hopefully these two degenerates will get their day in court, and will be punished to the fullest extent that they can be, and I think their parents should be held accountable as well ..just my opinion!!
A guy I know lost both parents to a drunk driver. He got custody of his 3 siblings and had to drop out of uni to work and take care of them.
He used to joke a lot, always outside, always laughing. After it happened, he barely talked. Just always looked tired.
If this law had been in place it would have eased his burden a bit.
“I don’t understand why women don’t just report it if it really happened.”
When I was 19, I reported mine. I had bruises. Hospital photos. Text messages of him apologizing the next morning. My friends drove me to the station because I could barely stop shaking. I thought evidence would make it simple. I thought truth would be enough.
Months later, I was the one on trial. His lawyer printed my Instagram photos and held them up in court. Asked why I wore crop tops. Asked why I drank that night. Asked why I didn’t scream louder. He replayed my police interview and pointed out every time I hesitated, every time I cried, every time my timeline wasn’t perfectly linear. “If it was traumatic,” he said, “why can’t she remember clearly?”
Sitting there while strangers debated my pain like it was a group project felt like being stripped again. My messages were projected on a screen. My body was described in detail. My character was picked apart like that was the real crime.
He walked out on bail. I walked out with panic attacks.
That’s why some women don’t report. Because even with bruises. Even with screenshots. Even when you do everything “right.” You still have to survive the assault twice, once in private, and once in public, just to maybe be believed.
The minimum wage in Pennsylvania is $7.25 an hour.
A regular Auntie Anne’s soft pretzel at the mall is $7.29.
Imagine telling someone an hour of their time is worth less than a pretzel.
I actually saw Chappell Roan at a grocery store in Los Angeles once. I told her how cool it was to meet her in person, but I didn't want to be a douche and bother her and ask her for photos or anything.
She said, "Oh, like you're doing now?"
I was taken aback, and all I could say was "Huh?" but she kept cutting me off and going "huh? huh? huh?" and closing her hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard her chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw her trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in her hands without paying.
The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like "Ma’am, you need to pay for those first." At first she kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.
When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, she stopped her and told her to scan them each individually "to prevent any electrical infetterence," and then turned around and winked at me. I don't even think that's a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, she kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.
I run every day for 20 minutes & if I miss a day, I add 20 minutes to the next day. This has truly been a game changer. Tomorrow, I'm supposed to run for 4 months.
