Happy National Athletic Training Month!
Every March, we celebrate the essential work athletic trainers do to keep people safe, healthy and performing their best.
This year’s theme, Care You Can Count On, highlights the trusted, evidence‑based health care athletic trainers deliver in every setting. From the sidelines to clinics to industrial workplaces, ATs show up with expertise, compassion and unwavering commitment to the communities they serve.
Thank you to every athletic trainer who makes a difference every day. We see you. We appreciate you. We count on you.

A great TEDx talk on the importance of access to concussion care for law enforcement personnel. As @jaclyn_caccese perfectly said, we need to do better to protect and advocate for those who protect us.
I’m not sure when the talk will be available on the TEDx website but the full event is available here: https://t.co/yN5TAbGyQo
My talk starts at the 1:11 mark.
We’re No. 1 — again! UW–Madison’s School of Education is ranked the top education school in the nation for the second consecutive year by U.S. News & World Report.

Research drives health, innovation & Wisconsin’s economy. Cuts to NIH research funding would harm critical work like the hugely valuable @UWMadison Wisconsin Registry for Alzheimer’s Prevention & hurt everyday Wisconsinites. Our letter: https://t.co/wCpAE75aKG

Excited to share our latest study that highlights important gaps in concussion care. Given that timely evaluation can improve recovery outcomes, these findings emphasize the need for more equitable access to athletic trainers.

Congratulations to Dr. Shaniece Jackson, DAT, ATC, LAT, CES, PES, OPE-C, for her outstanding work as the @Eagles assistant athletic trainer during Super Bowl LIX! As the first Black female athletic trainer hired full-time by the Eagles, she’s breaking barriers and inspiring future generations. #Trailblazer #SuperBowlLIX #AthleticTrainer 🏈🙌🏼👏🏼🦅
The science is clear…guardian caps don’t help prevent concussions in high school football. What they do is give kids, parents & coaches a false sense of safety; which can lead to increased injuries due to poor technique & under-reporting of symptoms of concussion.
Check out our new publication in the Journal of Athletic Training!
Special thanks to my co-authors, the Athletic Training Practice-Based Research Network, and all secondary school ATs!
In the new issue, Madison Renner, MS, ATC and colleagues identify factors that impact the time to AT evaluation following acute sport-related injury in a secondary school setting.
