It’s awful how news coverage of Hurricane Katrina involved the crime happening after it, in turn making the victims seem less deserving of aid. Pg 263-264 #NQSoc221

“A Chinese American schoolteacher in Seattle’s Chinatown was abducted and killed: he was found bound, bludgeoned, and almost beheaded” This was after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. It’s terrible that someone who was Chinese American got killed as result. Pg222 #NQSoc221

@Kaitigrand_ It must of been very confusing and frustrating for them! I’m sure they knew about Pearl Harbor but just because it was Japanese soldiers who did it doesn’t mean Japanese Americans need to be punished. I don’t blame them for wanting to leave.
