@lmblackwell4 What a great way to make math a fun and exciting time in the classroom for students. Integrating math tasks that have real-world connections, are hands-on, and are simply fun is a fabulous way to keep students engaged and wanting to learn.
@misterlaserinko If you can relate to the students in a humorous way, I think it can create so much more participation in a lesson. It also makes presenting a topic that might be a little heavy in content feel lighter and easier to grasp for the students, great work!
@SynaSharma1 This is such a great way to promote cooperation and relationship-building within the classroom! Sometimes the teacher does not always have all of the right answers and some of our best realizations come from other students! What a wonderful way to teach figurative language!😄
@teachmetorobot The importance of teaching SEL in schools cannot be understated, and breathing techniques are a great way to teach students to regulate stress and emotions! You created a nice change in pace for these students in P.E., great work!
@deutschmitsonia I really enjoy the way you and your partner(s) approached this lesson! Your definition of figurative language was written so that sixth graders can easily interpret what it means. The activity also allowed students to have some creative freedom!
So grateful for all of my time spent at @CCMMSRedwolves this semester with my PLT group observing the Restore and Reflect room. #ED204 has taught me so many valuable lessons about being a teacher and I cannot wait to continue my journey at @NCStateCED!
Right before Thanksgiving break, my PLT group and I gave a presentation on social-emotional learning and conflict management in the Restore and Reflect room at @CCMMSRedwolves! We worked through real-life scenario cards with the students and practiced how to handle conflicts.
We informed students of the importance of social-emotional learning and its role in their everyday lives! Following the scenario cards, we worked with them through a reflection to process their emotions during the activity and how it made them feel.
Something I have been really thinking about lately is the role of equity in education. So often assumptions are made about circumstances, and the teachings of my education courses this semester have given me a new perspective on the role of equity in the classroom #ED204.
