St. Bernardine of Siena (1380–1444) was a Franciscan preacher known for his powerful sermons, devotion to the Holy Name of Jesus, and efforts to renew faith in Italy. He traveled widely, calling people to conversion, peace, and charity. He was canonized six years after his death.
Jesus prays for us. In a divided and wounded world, He asks the Father that we may live in unity, rooted in love. When we remain close to Christ, His love can shine through us and become a sign of hope for others.
Christopher Magallanes and his companions were Mexican priests and lay Catholics martyred during the Cristero persecution (1926–1929). Refusing to abandon their faith or stop celebrating the sacraments, they remained faithful to Christ until death.

What just happened: SecWar Pete Hegseth re-enlisted Jones at the Pentagon. Jones is the 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐞-𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐞 𝐄𝐎𝐃 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡 𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐞-𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 in DOD history. Stated goal on camera: “to be the oldest Staff Sergeant in the state.”
The deeper signal: a Secretary of War who actively re-opens the door for men the previous DOD treated as medically discharged and done. Hegseth flipped the assumption — 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐯𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐧 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫.
