you know i love eth and the eth community, but one of the persistently worst parts of its culture from the beginning has been the idea we should "just build, don't fight or push things too hard, we'll just somehow magically win", and that any kind of competition, evangelism, fighting for ETH etc is somehow bad. this is total bull shit

guys Ethereum is **a social coordination mechanism**. the tech alone (which is amazing) is worthless without a community using it, and you build a community by making converts. while we should mostly use positive techniques, yes that includes sometimes *defending* it in twitter arguments. lurkers are watching and can be convinced one way or the other, so yes they matter

many many great devs just want to build, great!, but you should not disparage those who go fight every day for what you've built
