how lucky we are to sit in the comfort of our own homes, able to freely live our lives, eat proper meals, pursue our hobbies while across the world, on the same planet we share, innocent people, families and children just like ours are forced to live in constant fear of death…
I wish this was fake, but unfortunately, it isn’t. The image below shows a satellite view of an approaching typhoon in the Philippines — nearly as massive as the entire country itself.
❗️❗️ HORRIFIC flooding across Cebu, Philippines after Typhoon Kalmaegi (TinoPH).
Homes gone. Streets underwater. Families displaced.
This. Is. Not. Normal.
Warmer oceans = stronger storms
Climate change = worse flooding
What we’re seeing in Cebu is part of a growing global pattern: extreme weather becoming more extreme, more frequent, and more devastating.
We need urgent climate action - not tomorrow, but now.
I’m so mad and furious right now. Cebuanos prepared so well. We stocked up on the basics and daily necessities ahead of time. But because of these substandard flood control projects, we’re once again left in this devastating situation.
Areas that were never prone to flooding are now underwater. People are still trying to recover from the earthquake, and now we’re facing this again.
I truly admire the resilience of the Cebuanos, but this shouldn’t always be about resilience. We deserve accountability. Let’s make sure these corrupt officials are put behind bars. IKULONG ANG MGA KURAKOT!
It’s been so long! How come no one has been held accountable yet!?
26 BILLION OF FLOOD CONTROL FUNDS FOR CEBU, WHERE ARE THOSE?
Guys, CEBU IS NOT OKAY.
We’re not okay in Cebu.
SPREAD THE WORD!
We’re still flooded. Many lost their homes. Many areas don’t have electricity yet and signal.
Northern Cebu is still recovering, and then here’s another one.
SPREAD THE WORD!
