AOC says we shouldn’t be using taxpayer money to build Trump’s ornate castle/ballroom while people are struggling to pay for healthcare and rent.
Raju: Would you support authorizing the new ballroom?
AOC: No. The president demolished the East Wing of the White House, a historic jewel of the American people, and he started to build this ballroom long before any incident. He also promised the American people that this was going to be built with private dollars, so the idea that they are trying to change the rationale for this doesn’t add up.
The White House long had facilities for hosting, which also included the East Wing of the White House prior to them bulldozing the crown jewel of the American people.
I don’t believe, in an era when they are jacking up costs, when they’re gutting everyone’s healthcare, and when people cannot afford their rent and their mortgages, that we should be using our treasure to build an ornate castle on a scale that is unprecedented and unbelievable.
I’m sure that anybody who is against waste, fraud, and abuse would agree with me on that.
Rep. McBride on the Republican push to use taxpayer money to build Trump’s ballroom:
My constituents can’t afford fucking groceries or utility bills, and he now wants to spend taxpayer money on a ballroom? They shouldn’t use a potential tragedy to try to secure funding from taxpayers for the president to have Great Gatsby parties in the White House.
Although we don’t yet have the details about the motives behind last night's shooting at the White House Correspondents Dinner, it’s incumbent upon all us to reject the idea that violence has any place in our democracy. It’s also a sobering reminder of the courage and sacrifice that U.S. Secret Service Agents show every day. I’m grateful to them – and thankful that the agent who was shot is going to be okay.
@realCarola2Hope@RexUmberleigh Biblical evidence shows God calling, gifting, and commissioning women to proclaim the gospel. Examples like Phoebe, Priscilla, and Junia, alongside the prophecy in Joel 2:28 that "daughters shall prophesy.
@realCarola2Hope That was spellwork. Period. Count how many times she says each thing. The last thing she says she repeats 9 times. She says each thing at least 3 times. Spellwork.
@gentrywgevers Yeah it shows some drawing a gun on her and then her in fear starting to turn and then she gets shot in the head hits the gas and runs into a pole
