@Vixenlol@victryena TLDR: I don't think that her expressing the issue is wrong, I encourage it, but doing it in a combative and tactless way helps no one and only causes more of the infighting that I mentioned by punching up in what reads like insulting and petty rather than anything helpful.
@croissanwiches@victryena then what is the point of this at all? If not to make white trans people aware of their flaws in how they treat people of color so they can change? I only want to understand things I can do better surrounding this topic and you're just vagueposting.
@yoonoftheworld@victryena Of course it isn't your duty or requirement to educate, but I'd love to know more about your pov as a white trans person to know where I could do and be better to my poc peers.
@yoonoftheworld@victryena That isn't at all what I'm saying, I may have been aggressive in my phrasing but I'll link you to my other replies that clarify my thoughts, and you can educate me further if you'd like. https://t.co/MVHnixgEmD
@Vixenlol@victryena I feel that it's ignoring the true issue at hand of white trans people being capable of also being racist and that being ignored by the people with bigger voices, and just making a jab at others for no reason. She has a point but the way she's going about it isn't the best imo.
@Vixenlol@victryena I just don't find putting a jab at people for going out to dinner with their parents solves anything or really does anything at all but creat discord between white trans people and trans poc, hence my use of infighting.
@Vixenlol@victryena Maybe infighting isn't the best word, but I'm just not the biggest fan of how she's addressing the issue by being combative like this rather than educating. But I may be ignorant.
@cookiemoding genuine question from a white trans person who is uneducated, what can I do to be better? there any area that might be a little less obvious to someone with privilege that I should know about?
@oncloud_e Fully fully agree. Couldn't have said it better. I left my own criticisms of the stuff up to own what I said, but now that I read this tweet they made I fully am with her on this.
@victryena like maybe there's a piece of context that I'm not getting. I'll admit that I might be ignorant to something happening because I'm white. But this sounds pointless to me and I'd love to know if there's an actual reason for saying this stuff.
@victryena why are you just constantly infighting with other trans people like can we actually focus on getting shit done instead of making these petty and worthless tweets to make yourself feel good?
@maroondaisy_ Neither of these things are admitting that cisgender is a slur, it's very obviously not. But it's using a hypothetical to demonstrate the stupidity in that way of thinking.
@maroondaisy_ I know thinking in the abstract is difficult for you, but in this hypothetical world where cisgender is a slur, (The hypothetical the poster is making.) would it not be even worse to be calling people those slurs when you don't want to be called a slur?
