Softball question about insurance coverage for abortion, but not one addressing the critical role Virginia plays in the national landscape of abortion access in the country. Wild.
We cannot talk “urban renewal” without also talking about asking impacted communities what supports they want and need for their community. Urban renewal needs to be a bottom up project. Always.
@SallyLHudson this election presents an opportunity for generational change that allows for increasingly diverse representation. Jobs, gender, etc. And the Senate will benefit from this type of change.
Increasing housing supply & allocating some portion of it to be “affordable” is part of the solution to meet housing needs. We need to have a concurrent conversation about raising wages. $15/hr is not a livable wage at this point. How are we addressing that? @cvilletomorrow
On gun violence: Hudson mentions the positive and negative changes the state has made to gun laws in the past few years. "Until we start putting where our mouth is, I don't think we're going to see a long-term solution to the gun violence we're seeing in Charlottesville."
Hudson says the state has been "off the rails" for some time now since Youngkin's appointees to the Department of Education were selected. Husdon says we should wait to get Democrats back in the Senate to fight back. "Everyone has an obligation to raise their voice on this."
Happening now: Sally Hudson and Creigh Deeds are present for the Virginia 11th district democratic candidate forum. You can livestream the debate on https://t.co/U3EtQIOdFr or @cvilletomorrow Youtube channel 🗣️
So many elections. But I’m here for this one. Del. Hudson has been fantastic in the House, and is going to be 🔥 (orange and yellow flame) in the Virginia Senate. LFG!
The midterms may be over, but Virginia has elections every year. Excited to share that I'm running for the State Senate in 2023! https://t.co/mf0Tlbtnfg
both devin chandler and lavel davis were my students. devin was in my class in spring 2022, and lavel is in my class this semester. I am so indescribably sad right now but I wanted to share a few memories of them, because they were wonderful people
Kansas will vote on Tuesday to decide whether to amend its Constitution to say it does not protect abortion rights. The state is one of five to put abortion rights directly on the ballot with measures to amend state constitutions. https://t.co/orr2494Bsq
What do you put in a care package for your abortion friends that says, “This is fucking awful. I see you, and love you?” Chocolate? Gin? A flamethrower? (Serious question tho.)
