Horrible news coming out of Midland this morning regarding an active shooter situation. Our hearts are with the victims of this senseless act of violence and their families.
Please join me in praying for everyone affected, as well as the brave law enforcement officers, first responders, and medical personnel responding to the situation.
As more information becomes available, let us keep everyone affected by this tragedy and the Midland community in our prayers.
Today, I joined dozens of my colleagues in signing a letter to Congressional leadership demanding immediate action following the terrorist attack in Austin.
Two innocent Americans were killed, and 14 others were wounded. The FBI is investigating this as an act of terrorism. The letter makes clear: the safety of Americans must come first.
We are calling on Congress to:
⏺️ Fully fund the Department of Homeland Security ⏺️ Freeze new H-1B visa issuances until a full audit is completed ⏺️ Pause immigration until proper vetting systems are in place ⏺️ Redirect resources to identify threats already inside our borders
We must protect American citizens and defend their freedoms. Foreign legal systems and radical ideologies have no place in Texas. Our laws are based on the Constitution, equal protection, and individual liberty. That is what we will defend.
Americans deserve to feel safe on their own streets. Texans deserve leadership who will push for even stronger security.
Congratulations to @JayHardaway—and to @knorfleet—on a decisive primary victory in House District 71. Now we turn to November and build on the strong record of Republican leadership in Texas.
A few more hours, Texas! Get out and let your voice be heard in the primary election! We have the opportunity to decide who we are sending to the November ballot! Let’s do it!
🇺🇸 This week, the Texas State Board of Education meets to decide the future of Social Studies.
The Comprehensive 3-5-1 Model is the ONLY plan that restores pride in American exceptionalism and Texas greatness—and the only one with a Texas History capstone in 8th grade. 🧵
