The Cabinet on Tuesday approved the common ticketing scheme, clearing the way for fares of 17-45 baht across all metro lines, including the Green Line.
Transport Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn said the government is still targeting a Jan. 1, 2027 launch, with passengers paying a single entry fee regardless of the number of transfers.
Phiphat said the next step is for the Transport Ministry to discuss the establishment of a clearing-house system to collect and distribute fare revenue among rail operators under the integrated ticketing scheme. He said the ministry aims to have the system ready in time for the planned rollout.
