i had the idea during the sequence where ranboo is trying to find the right code but goes against the audience's vote that maybe the audience is always right? like no matter what they choose it is seemingly made to be the correct option

just because it goes against the audience vote, he feels more powerless against the audience and showfall in general, guilty that he refuses to comply, and ends up falling back into their control more easily as he feels like he can't do anything right without them.
