2026 WILL NOT feature an East-Based Super El Niño❌🧵
"Hold up! How can you be so sure when the models show more than +2.0°C?"
After looking at previous El Niño’s, ENSO Longitude Index (ELI), OLR, SOI, & model data, the fog has started to clear
Let’s dive in! (Thread)
@phillywxguy_ I like this post! In monitoring ENSO, there's way too much ocean-based thinking around. Of course, the atmosphere is noisy, but ELI is still a good metric imo. Let's see if WWB shakes things up, though...
@OpenAI It's so frustrating to pay full price as a European+Windows Codex user, still waiting for:
- Computer Use (promised "soon" a month ago)
- Chrome plugin
only to find out that the new "Codex Thursdays" release is yet another cool one I can't use!

@chetaslua 1) You're only comparing against cherry-picked benchmarks from OpenAI.
2) 5.5 hallucinates a lot (per @ArtificialAnlys). Can you provide a source for the "Mythos hallucination king" statement, please?
@claudeai Since pricing is finally reasonable, and the model is highly token-efficient, I'd really love to use it in Claude Code with Pro. Is it coming? @alexalbert__
