STATEHOUSE PRESS RELEASE
PRESIDENT TINUBU RETURNS TO ABUJA
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu returns to Abuja today following a ten-day working visit to Lagos.
The President arrived in Lagos on Friday, September 26, after attending the coronation of His Imperial Majesty, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, in Ibadan.
While in the nation's commercial capital, President Tinubu engaged with key investors, including Bayo Ogunlesi, Chief Executive Officer of Global Infrastructure Partners, and Keem Belo-Osagie, former Chairman of United Bank for Africa and Etisalat, and now Chairman of Metis Capital Partners.
President Tinubu also received the Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO), Mr Arsenio Dominguez, in the company of the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola and other heads of agencies in the sector. During their meeting, President Tinubu reaffirmed his administration's commitment to developing Nigeria's maritime industry as a viable alternative to fossil energy.
On the eve of Nigeria's 65th anniversary of independence, President Tinubu visited Imo State to commission projects undertaken by Governor Hope Uzodimma. The President also unveiled a book authored by the governor, chronicling 10 years of the APC governance in Nigeria.
He delivered the national broadcast from the State House, Dodan Barracks, on Independence Day. He later commissioned the renovated National Theatre — now renamed the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and the Creative Arts — where he called on Nigerians to speak positively about their country.
On Saturday, October 4, President Tinubu visited Jos, Plateau State, to attend the burial of Mama Lydia Yilwatda, the mother of Professor Nantawe Yilwatda, the chairman of the APC.
At the funeral, the President paid tribute to Mama Yilwatda and assured Christian communities in Northern Nigeria of his administration's unwavering commitment to fairness and equity among all religious groups in the country.

Troubling security situation in Kogi and Kwara states
I am deeply disturbed by the tragic reports of yet another senseless attack in Kogi State’s Yagba West Local Government Area, where over 27 innocent Nigerians were killed by armed bandits. The images are heartbreaking. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their families, and the entire people of Kogi State.
This comes as reports from neighbouring Kwara state say that nine out of 16 LGs in Kwara state are under bandits’ siege, who now demand food and drinks as ransom. The nine LGs in the bandit control include Baruten, Edu, Ekiti, Ifelodun, Isin, Kaiama, Oke-Ero, Patigi, and Irepodun.
The security situation is now a national emergency. It is deeply troubling that insecurity has become a normal occurrence in our nation, where our citizens die daily more than in countries at war. This is not normal.
Our citizens cannot sleep in their own homes in peace, our farmers are being driven away from their lands by bandits, our children are living in fear of being attacked, and our nation continues to bleed. Leadership must be about protecting lives and property, the most basic duty of any government.
May God grant eternal rest to the victims, comfort to their grieving families, and give wisdom and courage to our leaders to protect every Nigerian life. -PO
Today being the 10th Day of the 16 days of projects flag off in the FCT, we flagged off the construction of the Mohammed Isa Road extension within the Asokoro District in Abuja.
The new road project was initiated following a direct appeal from a major critic of the present administration, who had appealed for infrastructure provision, specifically roads, drainage, and streetlights in the Asokoro extension, similar to the work being done in other districts of the FCT.
I remember very well that the major critics of the present government of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, came to me and said "look, you have been providing infrastructure in terms of roads in all these other Districts. What about us in the Asokoro extension?"
Let me state again that I am one of the agents of President Tinubu, whose task is to translate the President’s vision into action.
The FCT's progress is a testament to the President's effectiveness.
Following the directive of President @officialABAT for an immediate review of the 2026 Hajj fares, Vice President @KashimSM has directed the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (@nigeriahajjcom) to come up with new fares for the exercise within two days.
This, the Vice President said, has become necessary considering the continued appreciation of the naira against the dollar — a primary determinant of the pilgrimage fares.
VP @KashimSM, who handed down the President’s directive on Monday during a meeting with the management and board members of @nigeriahajjcom at the Presidential Villa, called for synergy among national and state officials, including state governors, in streamlining and adopting a new set of fares for the exercise.
He also urged prompt action by all stakeholders to ensure quick payments and timely remittances to the Central Bank of Nigeria (@cenbank) to facilitate a hitch-free exercise.
@officialABAT Mr president should also visit me or you give audience for productive discussion on the exact state of the Nation, because I am very sure they have been lying to you on so many issues..... Thank you.
