tuning & mixing should ideally b done in tandem i think. its y i prefer v5/6: having a working idea for the mix helps me conceptualize what parts to tune in what ways… i want this part to exist in this space and this other part to exist in this other space, etc…
realizing that mixing is... probably a bigger part of what makes a cover good and i've spent my whole vocal synth existence focusing on the wrong thing
@blackstart_v i suppose its like drawing when u focus in on a stroke and then step back to see it in context. the line should b good but for the sake of the illustr. its all abt intention towards an envisioned end + practical knowledge honed & synergized to make it material. its art.
anyways its stuff like this that makes mixes dynamic and fun to listen to to me. also y its my favorite part of this hobby that i dont have much time for anymore…. the mix tells as much of the story and is as characteristic of you as your tuning!
