Another carriage horse has died in New York City.
End this barbaric bullshit.
If that means we no longer have an industry of animal abusers who cart fat tourists around Central Park, so be it.
End it.

🚨 SAVE SNUGGLES: Court Orders Euthanasia of Military Veteran’s Family Dog
Snuggles is a 2-year-old livestock guardian dog belonging to a military veteran and his family in Tucson, Arizona.
He lives with his mom, dad, and two young children who love him dearly and see him as their protector and best friend.
Snuggles is now sitting in Pima Animal Care Center after a court ordered euthanasia ruling following a bite incident that occurred on his family’s property while he was on guard duty.
He has now been sitting in the shelter for AMOST 8 MONTHS away from the family he has known his entire life.
According to the family, this was Snuggles’ first bite incident.
The bite victim was the children’s grandmother, and she is also fighting to save Snuggles and bring him home.
The family believes Snuggles is being misunderstood for doing what guardian dogs are bred to do: protect their home and family.
Snuggles is not a monster. He is a working guardian dog with a family desperately fighting for his life.

Our petition is now past 3,800 names. Can we get this thing to 5,000? That would really show the groundswell of support we have to #SaveLucy.

❤️ SADIE UPDATE ❤️
Sadie’s story will air tonight at 11 PM on @WRAL.
The pressure and support from the X community, along with the WRAL team, has helped push @Amazon to begin actively working with Sadie’s family regarding reimbursement for her medical bills.
While Amazon has not completed its review process and no funds have been received yet, the family is feeling much more confident that things are finally moving in the right direction.
Thank you to everyone who has shared Sadie’s story, prayed, donated, and helped keep pressure on Amazon to do the right thing. ❤️ #SaveSadie
🆘SOS. SOS. 🆘
I feel helpless.
I feel defeated.
Rescue feels like a constant catch-22 sometimes.
If you aren’t actively rescuing new dogs, people stop donating because they think nothing is happening. But when you are struggling just to meet the needs of the animals already in your care, how do you responsibly continue to say yes?
How do you pull more dogs when you are worried about food, bills, flooding, vet care, and making sure the animals already here continue to receive the quality care they deserve?
That is the part people don’t always see.
Rescue is not just pulling a dog from a shelter.
It is every single day after that.
It is the feeding.
The medications.
The behavioral work.
The cleaning.
The vet visits.
The sleepless nights.
The worrying about what happens if donations stop coming in.
And for us, these animals are not temporary. Many are sanctuary dogs. Last chance dogs. Dogs that truly have nowhere else to go.
So while rescues all over the country are closing, we are sitting here terrified because closing is not really an option for us. What happens to the animals if we fail?
I don’t have the answer right now. I just know we are trying our absolute hardest to keep going.
If you can donate, share, or support us in any way, we would be beyond grateful.

You may also pledge on the secure Dojiggy platform, which we adopted to prevent scammers. We ask that you PLEDGE instead of donate, however. If a dog is adopted, returned to their owner, or sadly killed, we have to pay significant fees to refund your donation. Canceling pledges is free. Unless you want Shelter and Rescue Partners to keep the donation (we do pay for vaccines for each dog and much more), please pledge vs. donate.

🚨Veteran Brendan Jones Saved Lucy in a War Zone. Now Nasty Neighbors Want Her ☠️
Last night I stepped into a Facebook discussion involving the #SaveLucy case and saw firsthand the kind of hostility @brendanmjones and @Herb_Minstrel have been dealing with.
People were spreading accusations and rumors that were easily disproven, while piling onto a veteran and his family over incredibly minor issues.
No matter where you stand, an 11-year-old dog rescued from a war zone should not be facing death over barking from her own yard.

~ Part 2 of 2 ~
…four weeks ago, Lucy slipped her collar in our own yard, for mere seconds. My husband immediately got her and put it back on. No incident. No harm. Nothing. Just seconds.
But in that exact moment, the wife of a local attorney, one of the core members of this mean-spirited little circle, decided to call it in. Because “she was told to”. I can only assume by the joggers mother or the spy who lives on the other side of our wooded tree-line.
Because of that, our elderly dog was taken from our home and is now sitting in state custody. My husband is now facing serious legal consequences that could destroy us, all over something that lasted seconds, on our own property, with zero harm done.
Let that sink in.
This is not justice. This is complete abuse of the legal system. It is weaponized gossip, coordinated harassment, and people using law enforcement and the courts to try to intimidate and force a family out because they don’t like who we are.
The lies that have been spread about us are disgusting. The level of obsession required to monitor and report us like this is disturbing. We did nothing but move into our home, build our little farm, and try to live our lives.
Rest assured, we will continue to fight until our old Lucy is back home with us.
*Photo of Lucy chasing her best friend Lex, our other military rescue pup, in our field this past winter*. Lex misses her so much 😢
