STEM challenge… how tall can you make a tower using only 100 toothpicks and 100 cranberries? We had a tie of 11.5 inches. We have some future engineers in our midsts!
These students are something else. 40 books read in 2 months ✅📚, a hoop shoot contestant 🏀, and last but not least… a school winner of the @BeableEducation contest 👏🏽. I am one proud teacher!
Ss completed their first informational writing piece all about Poinsettias. They are truly experts and know so very much about this beautiful “holiday plant.” They also created a replica of the flower using paper bags. Talk about some art skills! 🌺
We read, researched, and learned about Flora the Elephant. We virtually visited the Elephant Sanctuary (where F retired from circus) in TN. We learned how elephants are able to live in a place much like their very own natural habitat! Maybe a Ss will be a vet or care staff 🐘🌲

Last week we got to watch two of our classmates present their TEDED TALKS. Seeley shared her passion for cheer and Dexter talked about “the best day of his life… the day he was adopted”. There may have been some misty eyes in the audience! 🥺👏🏽 Talk about confidence! 👏🏽
Ss became geologists and learned about the rock cycle through our hands on Starburst Rock Cycle Lab. We were able to connect our learning to this natural process about how rocks are formed, broken down, and transformed into different types of rocks over time. It “ROCKED”!🪨
One of our very own parents came and taught our 5th graders about aquaponics. The Ss had so many questions for our expert… maybe one day they’ll grow up to be an aquaponic gardener 🪴👩🌾🧑🌾 @CVWorldofWork. Love our @VistaGrandeCV community! 💚@LupoAnnie@LaurenRhoadsl@bautistat27
