What’s happening with the Fed is bigger than US politics. If its independence is weakened, it affects money everywhere, even in Morocco or anywhere else in the world. The Fed is not just an American institution. It sits at the center of global finance.

The Moroccan dirham is pegged to a basket of currencies, around 60% euro and 40% dollar. When the dollar moves because of political pressure on the Fed, Morocco feels it through prices, trade, and financial stability.
