@PoliticalNitWit@DirkB64040759@mark What difference does that make? Are we discussing all those other times or are we discussing your claim, which they seem to oppose?
@MarkStewartNZ@rugbyphilosophy@APC_Rugby So sure, rugby is a contact sport and injuries happen. Hard to tell when they're legit.
NZ stands alone in that complaint due to the need to deflect from their gross illegalities which directly result in gaps in defences for tries. That's the issue. Deflect all you want.
@MarkStewartNZ@rugbyphilosophy@APC_Rugby Literally one try was scored with "subtle" obstruction, and no one in SA is celebrating it. And your only other criticism is your NZ "arbiters of rugby values" position against slowing the game. Dagg said it recently in a podcast that they had a word for faking an injury.
@MarkStewartNZ@rugbyphilosophy@APC_Rugby Sure man. Again, the attitude towards it is very different in NZ. There's an acceptance that it is part of the game, and an encouragement to do it well. Other countries don't like it. Don't encourage it.
It's been rife from NZ in this series.
@MarkStewartNZ@rugbyphilosophy@APC_Rugby Dude you're the one calling for your team to DO IT MORE AND JUST GET AWAY WITH IT ππ
You're welcome to obtain your own grip, sir.
@MarkStewartNZ@rugbyphilosophy@APC_Rugby that you've shown in this conversation towards encouraging that illegal play. Like getting away with it is to be targeted, and celebrated?
It's pathetic. NZ has the skills to be better than that. Some on- and off-field actions are showing up the historical gracious victor image.
@MarkStewartNZ@rugbyphilosophy@APC_Rugby "but what about the other team"
Colour me surprised.
Dude, your team is hailed as the best team at finding gaps in defences. That's how you play. It's not exactly fair if the reason you can play like that is because of illegal actions.
A massive point of departure is the attitude
@PoliticalNitWit@DirkB64040759@mark with it like the 80s and 90s.
Also, not sure the "no running game" punditry is accurate. Boks scored 43 points against NZ 2nd year running. Can't do that without running the ball mate.
Either way, well poised for RWC27. Boks have some players coming back. And Rassie loves WCs.
@PoliticalNitWit@DirkB64040759@mark I also think it was closer than I was expecting. NZ really showed up. Honestly though, the illegal tactics coming out, the tries NZ scored by finding/creating gaps around the rucks by illegally holding defenders in rucks, isn't sustainable. Too many cameras these days to get away
@rugbyphilosophy@MarkStewartNZ@APC_Rugby You may well just be joking around, but there's many a true word spoken in jest.
Either way, encouraging your team to offend quietly doesn't exactly talk to the rugby values NZ is always banging on about. And, if officiating continues to improve, it will be harder for NZ to win.
@derekalberts1 I find this all very encouraging. The biggest threat to us in the WC next year is if they adapt fast enough. With this mindset, that becomes less likely.
@schin66538@AllBlacks Your coach has been in the chair for 6 months, selection is going to be up and down, lots of time to find the balance before RWC '27.
Your team is playing excellent rugby, some slow moments but keeping SA fans stressed to the end is bloody good going. No other team is doing that.
@schin66538@AllBlacks I think you're being intentionally disingenuous.
And it's alright, we've all been there. But when the mist clears, you'll see your team has work to do, and the quicker you realise that, acknowledge the better team beat you, the quicker you can build.
Otherwise it's easy for us.
@schin66538@AllBlacks The ABs had me on the edge of my seat right up until the end.
Brilliant rugby all around. Unfortunately for you, your set piece does need work and that's the foundation of this great game. But keep blaming refs. It's easier for us that way.
