@bibillyhillock I explain my interests are just as important as theirs (for some the best analogy is their love of sports teams). Sometimes I look for a part of BTS they may appreciate (dance, jokes, charity, clothes, etc) but for others my standpoint is “don’t yuck my yum” and don’t be so small

@bibillyhillock I had some family and friends react similarly. For some I let it go- it hurt but wasn’t worth my time or energy to try to expand their small way of thinking. But for those who matter, I took some time then approached to talk calmly about why what they said was untrue and hurtful+
