@Yes73671789 I think it will depend on the matchup and current resources, this might be best if you are happy to just trap them and keep your distance.
If you don't have R1 already I probably wouldn't go for this. If a guaranteed carpet is all you want R2 crit and super routes are also good.
Setup that traps your opponent in the corner with carpet regardless of roll direction. Possibly safe to flow escape on reaction - hard to test, training mode sucks.

You can do similar from a midscreen to corner combo that happens to leave you at the right spacing but intentionally setting up the spacing from a corner combo is tricky.
Zuko (Mai) redemption 1 > MAX for net 0 chakra, need 1 chakra to start (+20 Redemption)
there is an obvious downside, but the structure after 236[B] > 6[C] is quite flexible
#AVL_ZU
better redemption build route for mai (0 redemption/no meter)
if you need less distance you can either dash for a shorter time on 6F~C or dash up 5A after 236[A] instead of sj jA
#AVL_ZU
no meter redemption build route ideas for mai
236[b] builds a lot of redemption but it's hard to route into with 0 redemption
gauging the distance is tricky

@TYRANTBRIMSTONE should be instant, may be a little earlier than you'd expect visually
if it's not working maybe you're using 236a? 236a can work but the timing isn't guaranteed, 236b is consistent/no delay
you don't technically need the elemental surge with this route but the timing is very strict, doesn't seem practical
if you can do it then it does more damage
looping setup:
- catches forward and back tech
- plus on block
- beats tech buttons/throw
- negative ob if neutral tech
- costs a lot of resources
#AVL_KO
can use A followup instead to catch neutral tech, may work for all techs if manually timed, not sure
can use C followup to catch all but this uses elemental surge at the start of the combo, so you can't get the bounce on 236XX later
empowered tk j214a is a 14f overhead, usually only combo options are otg 214XX or in avatar state 4pip super
if you delay slightly at close range you can make the first hit whiff and get a full combo #AVL_KO
@McGoobenmeister Delay until as late as possible, if you do jBC>jBC that first jB has to hit on the last possible frame, that's why jAC>jBC is more practical
