Newcastle have gone from having one of the best midfield duo’s in the league in Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimarães to one of the best midfield duo’s in the league in Nico Gonzalez and Lewis Miley.
Eddie Howe directly caused this collapse tbh. Think Bruno G loved the club enough to stay if Newcastle had remained a CL squad. His decision to splurge on Barnes (contributed to Minteh & Anderson leaving) and then that Elanga + Ramsey + Wissa summer destroyed their trajectory.
Is anyone seeing any evidence that we're going to have a much better season next season?
Patterns of play?
Players settled and excelling in their best positions?
Confidence and competence in possession?
Players improving and likely to have a big season next season?
If the players were as loyal to Eddie Howe as the local press pack are, we wouldn't be in this mess.
If Eddie Howe was as loyal to Steve Nickson as he is to his nephew, we wouldn't be in this mess.
If PIF were as focused on NUFC as they should be, we wouldn't be in this mess.
Those Wissa & Elanga shifts… spending £105m of the £120m Isak fee on those two after you the manager get the sporting director ousted from his job, is a sackable offence in itself.
