It's finally out! Our paper with @tom_swing and @BrendanBurchell scrutinising Graeber's theory of bullshit jobs in @WESjnl. Unfortunate that we didn't get to discuss with Graeber himself. https://t.co/EwVKZmQnsF
Congratulations to @UKLabour on gaining their majority. We look forward to welcoming new MPs, and outlining the vital importance of the #FutureOfWork to so much that this new government have signalled that they want to achieve. Our election asks here: https://t.co/u1SemUmWjN
Are you intending to adopt a new technology and would be up for talking to one of our fabulous research team about how this could improve productivity?
We'd love to hear from you. Please do let us know via this very short expression of interest form here: https://t.co/NBCWklTZJj

I got invited to speak at the background brief for a new research report on the impact of new workplace technologies on the quality of life & wellbeing of the workforce. Results showed that:
1) digital information and communication technologies (laptops, tablets, smartphones and real-time messaging tools) correlated with improved quality of life
2) newer and more advanced technologies (wearables, robotics, AI and ML software) were correlated with reduced wellbeing.
The findings emphasise the importance of the underpinning approach to change. There will be less impact on wellbeing if people feel that change is done with them, in a human-centred way, not to them.

Interesting research by my friend @AleLetelierR on the growing prevalence of young carers. One more reason behind the shrinking UK's workforce at the tails. Mid-age and older workers with work-limiting health conditions and young people looking after them.
This morning we are excited to be publishing a ground-breaking new study led by @magsoffia and @JSkordis for the Pissarides Review - funded by @NuffieldFound - into how exposure to technology is interacting with workers' quality of life and wellbeing. https://t.co/qi6likAJ0l
Our new report on the impact of tech on workers' #wellbeing in @guardian.
@MaryMay_ling from @The_TUC: "Things don’t have to be this way. If we put the guardrails in place, #AI can be harnessed to genuinely enhance #productivity and improve working lives.”
