He shook his head. They were going to travel further afield. Have some real fun.

“We should go on holiday. Somewhere sunny. All inclusive — sunbathing all day— how does that sound?”

He nodded. Solid plan.

He teased.

“Spin the glove, baby. Where do you want to go?”

He grinned, moving to cup her cheeks so she would look up at him. He placed a delicate kiss to her lips.

“What’cha say?”

“Got it. Sounds perfect to me.”

He leaned over to press a kiss to the side of her head.

“Thanks,” she gave a nod toward the backpack he now carried. “I don’t have any plans other than my classes and giving you a hard time.”

“I have no plans. I’m easy with what you want to do. What are your plans? I’ll work around them.”

He smiled, slowly taking her backpack off. She’d beed carrying it all day. He’d carry it for a while. He gave her hand a squeeze back as they started to walk.

“Yeah, I don’t mind the walk,” she shifted her backpack, giving his hand a squeeze. “What other plans do you have during this break?”

“You got it.”

He nodded once, taking her hand in his.

“You happy to walk?”

“A burger,” she told him with a nod, “always a burger and fries… and a shake.”

“Alright. Let’s go get some food. I’m starving. You want a burger? Or a steak dinner?”

He was starving for both.

“You’re the one on break,” she nodded, trying to push her worry away, “you come up with a plan and I’ll go wherever you want.” She held up a finger to pause, adding on a condition, “as long as it doesn’t involve meeting families.”

“You worry too much about me. Let’s just spend the rest of the day not worrying. We could go to the movies? Go get some food. Whatever you want.”

He just wanted to spend some time with her.

“Yeah, I do know actually because I’m also going to school,” her brows furrowed together, “taking a break just doesn’t make sense, you’ll only get behind.”

“It’s just a lot of work, you know?”

He shrugged.

“There’s really nothing to worry about, Laila.”

“So you’re just taking a break because you feel like it? Why?” She took a sip from the coffee he’d brought her as she waited for him to answer.

“No Laila. Of course not.”

He shook his head. He had no reason to lie to her.

“Whatever,” she rolled her eyes at the correction, “is something going on I should know about?”

“No— not dropping. Just taking a break. I’ll go back to them soon.”

His family were able to make sure that could happen without him having to repeat or losing credit.

“How thoughtful of you,” she laughed quietly as he continued, his lips quickly brushing over her cheeks and nose. “Now, why are you dropping class?”

“You’re right, baby. The coffee is just a bonus gift for you.”

He places a few more kisses across her face.

She tightened her grip on the coffee, leaning into him fully as they kissed, “be honest, you came here to give me 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵, not the coffee.”

“I’m taking a small break from some of them.”

He pulled her in close, his lips pressing to hers properly.

She took the coffee, leaning forward as she did to greet him with a soft kiss at the corner of his mouth, “it was.. class. Speaking of, why aren’t you in class?”

He’s holding it out to her, smiling gently.

“How was class?”

She smiles as she sees that he’s been waiting, coffee in hand, “is that for me?”
