Honestly, after reading this report, there is only one feeling: Philippine politics is thoroughly rotten.
The whole incident is absurdly simple. A small local Philippine food processing plant mainly produces banana chips and works with Chinese buyers, conducting the most ordinary, routine agricultural foreign trade. There are no secrets, no risks, and no violations. It is simply a legitimate business for ordinary people to make a living and create local jobs.
Yet this trivial matter has been demonized amid the fierce power struggle between the Marcos and Duterte political clans in the Philippines. To suppress Sara Duterte and push forward impeachment proceedings, the ruling camp deliberately exaggerates the issue, blowing it out of proportion and smearing normal civilian trade as a “national security threat.” It is utterly ridiculous.
This is no longer political gamesmanship. It is outright witch-hunting.
The Philippines now suffers from a grotesque disorder: any connection to China or the Duterte family is treated as an original sin. Whether you run a large corporation or a small vendor, whether you engage in legitimate and lawful trade, politicians can slap a national security label on you at any time when they need a weapon. The phrase “national security” has been twisted and instrumentalized. Instead of serving as the bottom line to safeguard the nation, it has become the most convenient blade for internal political fights.
The greatest irony and tragedy is this: what truly undermines the Philippines’ national security and economic future is not a few batches of exported banana chips.
It is the endless political infighting; politicians who prioritize power over people’s livelihoods; and the ugly willingness to ruin local foreign trade and destroy merchants’ livelihoods for factional gains.
Davao is a major agricultural region in the Philippines. Countless farmers and processing factories rely on agricultural exports to survive. A wave of political hype by politicians instantly creates panic in normal foreign trade. Local enterprises hesitate to take orders, and foreign buyers dare not cooperate. In the end, it is the incomes of ordinary people at the bottom that suffer, dragging down the entire national economy.
The Marcos government keeps talking about development and stability, yet what it actually does is wage relentless internal battles and crack down on dissent. It shies away from tough stances externally, but strikes hard against its own people domestically. It trades people’s livelihood for politics, commerce for power struggles, and the nation’s future for private factional interests.
This trivial banana chip controversy is a true microcosm of the Philippines today.
In this country, politicians are obsessed with manufacturing conflicts, fabricating charges and stoking fear, yet they never earnestly pursue development, stabilize the economy or improve public well-being. Such ceaseless political division will eventually drain national credibility, ruin the business environment, and sacrifice the livelihoods of an entire generation of ordinary citizens.

@alphatweetz8@story99247@jaytaryela The US is literally funding a genocide in Palestine at the moment and this dumbass just trying to associate everything bad about China when the SCS is not even our territory, probably doesn’t even understand the difference between EEZ vs. Territory. Such are the followers of Jay
@story99247@alphatweetz8@jaytaryela Tanga man ka oi. Did you even understand the tribunal process and the outcome? Did you even read it? Adolf Hitler mo mukha mo tanga.
Pretty sure we can't judge people's singing voice when listening to them rapping (therefore I won't comment on the group being criticized right now). That being said, yes, there are active male singers who have powerful voices
@GManicurist@jaytaryela Kaya pala tanga ka, sa sikat ka lang pala naniniwala kahit scammer siguro basta sikat naniniwala ka. Tanga. Haha. Only shows mga followers ni Jay Tarriela mga bobong hinde nag-iisip.
Not just the color grading, but the ominous choice of music, the choice of words in framing their reports/docus. If you’re not paying close attention, you’d really fall for the anti-China propaganda. I took the effort to really listen to the Chinese to finally understand this.
If you want to understand how public consent is manufactured, look at the color grading. 🎨🧠
Huge credit to 🎙️ Peter Yan for sharing the footage that unmasks this trick.
Don't swallow the blue pill. When they have to edit the sunshine out of the sky, the propaganda flopped. 💅
@femjisung It’s pointing an observable fact. These marketing campaigns are not dumb. They are very much aware how popular the Minsung pairing is but decided not to do it anyways. Pointing that out does not make it everything about them nor does it take away the attention from others.
@Auhofstrasse1@jaytaryela Tanga ka. Nalunog na yang utak mo sa Anti-China propaganda, kung sasabihin ng US na tumuwad ka, tutuwad ka kasi hinde ka ng-iisip.
@bamrcus Yeah, the whole body is gross if you think anout it, we are carrying millions of bacteria that eat up our dead cells that create all sorts of foul smell, but our brain just tricks us to finding it attractive for the sake of our species’ survival.
